history of the marietta house

The marietta house was built in 1948 and the story goes that is was moved here from a farm just outside of town.  I moved into the marietta house on March 1, 2010 and it was a cozy safe haven for me as I navigated my divorce.  I was 35 years old.  It was my calico kitty, Kalli and I settling into this light filled home with its original pine wood floors.  The marietta house is owned by Terry and Annette who live next door, they have been angels in my life.  Their love and sweat is palpable as they so beautifully restored the marietta house before I moved in.  My Core Awareness healing movement studio accompanied me in the move.  The most light filled room (5 windows and a patio door) become my yoga studio for the next 3 and a half years.  My students and myself and Kalli loved all the wonderful light pouring in all day and the sweet sweet summer breezes coming through.  I remember a student saying during meditation how peaceful the sounds of the trees leaves were, yes, big big strong trees all around the marietta house.  A very happy huge silver maple in the back and a very old and confident pine tree in the front that just towers over my home.  They both have given me much strength over the years.  Here is my watercolor painting of the marietta house.
