I remember my first yoga class at the YMCA almost 20 years ago now and how much inner softness and peace I felt from my teacher’s voice and loving instruction.  Little did I realize at that moment how yoga and meditation would completely transform my personal and professional life.  I opened my Core Awareness studio in 2004.  Since then I have studied with some of Madison’s finest yoga teachers through classes, workshops and private sessions.  I completed my immersion studies with Iris Mickey locally and took my Ashaya yoga teacher training in Massachusetts and Ontario with Todd Norian and Ann Greene. Previous to yoga, I thoroughly studied Pilates and received my certification through the PhysicalMind Institute and before that I very much enjoyed ten years of health and fitness teaching and management with the YMCA. My Bachelors degree studies are in recreation, community health and exercise science. I personally find deep healing in nature where I love to hike or bike daily and be on the water in my canoe. I also enjoy watercolor painting, photography and anything glitter! I have been writing from my heart for many years now, which will eventually be my book and film- The Marietta House, a story of equanimity.  I am also blessed to have my very loving and supportive husband Christopher in my life and the big amazing guiding spirit of my now passed calico cat Kalli.
